A true Gem! Quaint immaculate rooms, with helpful, kind, knowledgeable staff. I could feel the family influence in the staff. The central location is within walking distance to everything inside the walls. Great family/gathering room for socializing and relaxing. Very nice continental breakfast baskets brought to your room each morning. Totally worth the price. A bit of elegance for a pittance of the price. I give this hotel five stars!

We loved the room with the door overlooking rue St. Jean. Maxine (our dog) was happy and well and loved the locally made doggy treats at the front desk. I also have to say that the idea of bringing the continental breakfast to each room is amazing and perfect. When we got back home, we really missed the nice little basket of yummy food hanging on the door. The directions, maps and help provided at the front desk were great and got us where we needed to be each day.

We just had a wonderful stay (the last week of August, 2006)! Your hotel was wonderful, every bit as pretty as the picture. It was a quick 5 minute taxi ride up from the VIA rail station (I wouldn't recommend walking because the hills are incredibly steep). But it was a nice 15 minute walk down for the trip home to Toronto. The room was really large with a nice view of ancient roof tops. It was very clean, up to date in decor and adequately equipped, with a fridge, coffee maker and hairdryer (things some hotels may or may not provide). We liked having the restaurant next door but the picnic basket breakfast in the room was nice too. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and perfectly bilingual. We booked a four hour bus tour at the front desk and felt it was a worthwhile way to spend half a day, touring Ile d'Orleans, Montmorency Falls, etc. All the best sights in the city are within walking distance (if you're in decent shape for the hills) and the city blocks around the hotel are full of beautiful old architecture, narrow streets, ancient walls and courtyards, as well as lots of shopping and restaurants. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.

Hi Debbie,
The weather has been wonderful in Quebec this summer and we are delighted that you respond so favorably to the little extras that we provide at Hotel du Vieux Québec.
I love your comment about the ancient roof tops. All rooms have a magnificent view. It's the result of our being located within the old walls of the Old City.
Do come back and pay us another visit. The next time you become family.

When I return to Quebec City, I will definitely stay at your
hotel. I am recommending your hotel to many people where I
live (Victoria, B.C.), who have the hope of visiting your wonderful
city in the near future. Merci beaucoup a tous!

We stayed last week, June 23 to 26. Everyone at
the hotel was so helpful, pleasant and courteous. We thoroughly
enjoyed ourselves. We felt so bad that we couldn’t
speak French but felt very welcome anyway. The room was very
nice and the kitchenette was a bonus. The hotel was in the
perfect location. Thanks to everyone for a memorable visit.

Wonderful little European style hotel - service was excellent, room was very clean and comfy, and the location was right in the middle of the city - walking distance to everything.

Good value, great inner city location, everyone is very helpful, courteous, and friendly. The service is always the same FANTASTIC. My wife and I have been to several hotels in Quebec City, but feel we have found the best...
Late July and early August is the International Fireworks competition. Leave your car at the parking garage and take the shuttle bus to Montmorency Park Falls, easy and very affordable, leave from Place D'youville, good food located nearby before the display, super time.
