Art and Nature in the Middle Ages
OCT 4TH, 2012 to JAN 6TH, 2013
This first-ever collaboration between the Musée de Cluny in Paris and the MNBAQ is a unique opportunity to present to audiences in Quebec some of the major and exceptional works found in the France’s Musée National du Moyen Âge. This veritable journey back in time features limestone cornices, pieces in ivory and silver and gold plate, enamelwork, stained glass windows, tapestries and illuminations. Viewers will reach a better understanding of artists’ vision of nature during this five-hundred-year period of Western European artistic production, from the fifth to the tenth centuries.
